Not but field, but who cares....

First his dog tag, who can compare this ugly number confusion with a beauty Heer unit designed and roster number nicely stamped?

I suppose someone will like it. There are so much rare people in this hobby

Now who can understand someone who prefers to fly in such horrible machines than feeling the Earth under his feet.

When you are in the Heer you just need to know how to fire your gun and where is the enmy, nothing complicate that needs superior permision like this one.

At least he received something similar to a normal and reputable soldier, a pity that his bird wanted to fly away.

                              Hi Angel,

Wow is that ever a wonderful group! I'm actually one of those who like the 'ugly confusion' of his Erkennungsmarke though Just FYI the main reason the stamping isn't particularly nice is that this is a stainless steel disc- much harder to stamp than zinc or aluminum. The type was instituted specifically for Luftwaffe aircrew and Panzer crews- men who constantly faced the danger of fire and required an identity disc that wouldn't melt. I also really like it because the unit code is identifiable- so many Luftwaffe flying unit codes are unknown... but then again, one can be in for a pleasant surprise in researching the number- I, myself, have found some really cool ones

                              Thanks for sharing.

                              Matt
