    Show your Cholm Wehrpass, please

I will be grateful to any Cholm Wehrpass owner who show us the unit and battle pages, if he show all the Wehrpass, better.

Mine is a second replacement and no battles written.

    Thanks again.

    Luftwaffe Feldregt. 1

Here is an original issue wehrpass to a Luftwaffe flak NCO, Heinz Bremecke, who ended up in the Cholm pocket with the hastily formed Luftwaffe Feldregt. 1! He served from November 1935 to August of 1945 (ended on a Flak Ferry).

The dates in the wehrpass show that he was transferred to the Luftwaffe Feldregt. 1 on January 18, 1942 - the day before they were surrounded - and he was there for the duration of the encirclement. He earned the EKII, Flak-kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe, and Ostmedaille after the encirclement ended in 1942. On April 29, 1945 he also received the KVKII mit Schwertern.

    Best regards,
    Jordan

Thanks for this LW example, looks like no detailed battle calendar was used, just as he was in the besieged town.

        Hi Angel,

It is my pleasure. I would be very interested to see a wehrpass with a detailed battle calendar of combat in the Cholm pocket.

I would assume that most wehrpass of soldiers fighting in the kessel were destroyed and most replacement wehrpass would not have had the same level of detail?

What is interesting about the Luftwaffen Feldregt. 1 is that only a battalion was trapped in the pocket. I would guess that this is the reason Bremecke's original wehrpass survived?

        Thanks,
        Jordan

Looks like you have some interesting LW pieces related to the Cholm pocket.

Thanks for your kindness showing them here.

Still to see a detailed battle calendar for the siege, but not stop looking for it.
