    Luftwaffe Trainings Code

    Hi all,
    I want start this thread to speak about this code.

    As Jeff sayed in this thread:

    The numbers you are referring to are used when filling out the top heading of the Wehrstammbuch. These numbers deal with the type of training one has. Although all three branches use them (Waffen SS under the Army), only the Luftwaffe will sometimes use them in the Ausbildungs pages of the Wehrpass and Ausbildungs section of the Kriegsstammrollen.
    290 = Luftwaffenbaueinheit, 906 = Truppendienstpersonal (Allg.)

    Do you have docs with this code? It would be interesting see more examples and decode theese codes.

    Here another example, a mechanic of a Nachtjagdgeschwader. Probably an interesting task: airplane electromechanical engineer. The radar system used by the Nachtjagd airplanes?

      The Elektromechaniker was a generic electrician.

      The radio/radar repairman was the Funkgerätmechaniker.

                I have this in a Wehrpass from a mechanic in civil live attached to light batteries or to lei Flak Abt.

                  Ausb: 918 = Waffenwart
                  721 = Geshütze (Flak 2cm)
                  740 = Kanonier 2
                  741 = Kanonier 3
                  742 = unknown
                  862 = Richtkanonier
                  876 = Scheinwerfer 60cm Mechaniker

                    Thanks Jeff, the soldier spent all the war in light batteries so it makes sense that he was qualified in all positions in a 2 cm Flak

                      Have the details of these codes been published at all?

                      If I remember rightly, I have two of these codes on the training page of a Wehrpass issued to a ZG Bordfunker. I will have to take a look later.

                        There actually are booklets or manuals out there published by the German military. They were used to fill out the top line of boxes on the front cover of the Wehrstammbücher. Since they were a handy way of tracking a soldier's training, the Luftwaffe started putting them in the Wehrpass, usually on the training page.

                          Here is the page I mentioned from the ZG Bordfunker Wehrpass, any idea of the training codes on this one at all?
