    Hi friends,

    I.R. 379 / I-BTL / 3.kp

    - Infanterie table of organization -
'One squad' consists of 9+1 member(s).
'One platoon' consists of 3 squad(s).
'One company' consists of 3 One platoon(s).

    I just made it.

(only just combat soldat) - no company kradmelder and no company signal..
Include errors, but in any case '67' Soldat is included in the table of organization.

I think the founding members use the old dog tag(Inf.Ers.Btl. 88, 106, 367),
maybe,... It appears that the new dog-tag by the 379th Infantry Regiment was not used(?)..

      OR

They may have used it, but there may be no blood type individual.

Have to concur with Lionel that the absence of a blood group stamp is not a guarantee of the tag being unissued, as he has clearly illustrated. Known examples from the same unit can help in providing information as to the style, stamp sets used etc. The number of fakes of all types of tags has rocketed. Unless you get with with good provenance or find them yourself it can be challenging.

Great to see the SB matched with ekm sets too Lionel.

Tks Simon. It was my pleasure to share, and wring the neck of such allegations. Dog Tag is not a simple matter, and it is a tempting tentation to build general rules, but this area is full of numerous exceptions. As you stated, the whole is even more complicated because fakers are hard at work, and not only forgering "Dirlewanger" and SS-Dog tags, but also very common ones.... copies for every budget

Concerning Heinz Grimberg... well... I tried to understand what you wanted to prove with your table... but honestly I didn't....
The I.R.379 was formed 28.11.39 in Offenbach, according Tessin, with soldiers coming from diff.Ers.Btl., mainly 88,367, 355,471, 205. After this, at least all new recruits joining the Unit got a "I.R.379" dog tag, at this time an aluminium model exactly like the one you presented before.... If you want my personal opinion, your tag is a good one. And just you are completely informed, if you paid less than 30 euros it was a correct deal, if you paid more... the seller can at least offer you a good beer by your next meeting Kind regards. L.

Your parcel contains two original tags in my opinion, price is conjecture and sadly the fakers and dealers feed the addiction and so can edge up the costs. I hope they find a happy place in your collection, that is the main thing.

                  Best,
                  Simon.

                    Hello !

Some very nice EKM examples without a bloodgroup imprinted presented here by Lionel !

I think, what Heinz Grimberg wanted to show, is a possible distribution of the various EKM on the 3. Kp./IR 379.
(The Lexikon provides the name of those officers)
The composition of such a Kp. can be found here (there are many slight variations):
                    http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/kstn/kstn131ct23okt39.htm

In general it is larger, it should consist of 160-180 men.
Here is where my questions start :
                    a) H. Grimberg showed 3 EKM with numbers 67, 184 and 207. All seem to be produced at the very same time,
because of the similar style. Correct ?!

                    b) This would be understandable, if every soldier of the newly formed IR 397 would receive a new EKM.
However, as Lionel already pointed out, IR 397 was formed by incorporating already existing Ersatz-Btls.
(mainly IEB 367 and 88), consistent with the officers listed in the Lexikon link.
However, those men should already have received their EKM in the respective replacement unit.
                    Any explanation ?!

This is related to an older discussion (bottom) :
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=946756

This topic could perhaps be clarified, if someone has a SB or WP to 169. ID (or any other 7th wave division) .

                    Best regards,

                    Archi
