    Hello my friends,

I've been looking for an EKM lately, and I just find it. Is this Original?

if you have the same sample.. please let me know.
    - The association of each 'stamp' is of great help to the study.

Hi ! How could you explained that an EKM wearing a Number is "unissued" ??

Very often unit HQ had prestamped dog tags (with punched soldier numbers) in number that equals 10-20% of soldiers in this unit. They were issued for new soldiers or in case of losing an old dog tag during service or fight.

Therefore the stamped soldier number does not indicate that the dog tag was issued.

I agree with Yubari that this dog tag was probably unissued.

              Regards

I dont see bloodgroup stamped there - plus EKM is not worn around the holes. This means that it is an unissued one. I found with metal detector only very few without bloodgroup but worn - so maybe they had somehow just written it with some marker that washed out during time in ground but out of like 500 dog tags I have I saw this like 2-3 times.

It is always dangerous to definite general rules based on your own experience, even as an advanced Collector / Digger. Just had a quick Look in my collection, I have more worn (and identified !) dog tags without Bloodgroup than with...

EXample : DK-Traeger DÃœNCHEM : no bloodgroup (neither reverse nor obverse)

Concerning the Lack of Wear, one more time, difficult to dictate any rules based on own observations rather than official Texts... Here is one classical leather dog tag Pouch coming from another Group, a soldier who served in Russia. As you can clearly see, the pouch itself was held by the cord, not the Tag.... So, this tag probably shown no wear altough 3 Years russian campaign...
