                I said Hindenburg Cross.

                Now you and I know they meant the same thing, but but I was not 100% sure the person starting the thread knew or not. Therefore I did the translation for him.

                      The ribbons on the picture do indicate :

                      1) KVK (War merit cross)
                      2) Eastern front medal

                      No " Hindenburgcross " to see over there in that picture

                            If I'm reading this correctly, he didn't get his Ehrenkreuz fur Frontkampfer (aka "Hindenburg Kreuz") until 31.03.1943. Guess they overlooked him in 1934/'35 when the majority (?) of these were awarded to World War I vets.

                              I noticed the date as well thinking it should've came a lot earlier but as I am not an expert on these...I thought it wasn't too out of place.
