Excellent presentation of a soldier with a long time career and a tragic end.
Really a great group, with so many photos illustrating many details of his early career and
of course excellent additions due to the maps and the photos from today.
Outstanding presentation, leading us through the different stages of his career.

Some remarks and questions:

1.) Monaco = München ?! (As it took me a while, and I wish we would have AS Monaco in the Bundesliga,
instead of FC Bayern München ... )

2.) in #23 :
The funny picture description on the back says :
"Der Priester der hl. [=heiligen] Barbara, Major Matting (?!)"
As (I think) the "heilige Barbara" was the patroness of Artillerie soldiers, this course must be about artillery !

3.) In 1939 he was (likely as instructor) with 15. E[rgänzungs-].(I.G.)/IR 61 (München).
These Ergänzungs-units were intended for short time courses (2-3 month) of recruits, mostly of the "weisse Jahrgänge".
Most of these units were used for the formation of the divisons of the 4th wave (here 268. Inf.Div.):

4.) The map from Aug. 1941 shows the 268. Inf.Div. defending the "Jelnja-Bogen" (Jelnya salient). This area was considered
as a very important jump off position for the attack towards Moscow. All units deployed there suffered severe losses.
It is at least possible, that he received his EK I in connection with that battles.

5.) In 1942 he was with Inf.Gesch.Ers.Kp. 268, which was located in Kempten (subordinated to Inf.Ers.Rgt. 527)

6.) Picture #17 : the letters on his shoulderboards : is that I.S. for Infanterie-Schule ?

7.) Is there an explanation, why the entry for Fahnenjunker was made (and later crossed aout ?!

finally I'm also confused about the last entry point for Fahnenjunker .... on pages 37 it looks like ROB (Reserveoffizierbewerber) turned into RTB (Regiment Tagebefehl) that changes in form shape but not in substance, right?
