Hello Doug,

Nice photo. He served Flak Division 25 in Italy. Wide use of tropical clothing used on that front as well.

Flak Rgt. 33 was actually in Africa, however he seems to have served with 11 Batterie which was III. Abteilung. From this Abteilung only 12 Battr. served in Afrika.
The whole of I. Abteilung served there also.

Nice looking Soldbuch....as Edward mentioned he served in Italy hence the tropical uniform.....however you will probably never find a Soldbuch with a true Afrikakorps photo.....the order instructing the use was given around the demise of the Afrikakorps....however I have seen one that had a photo!!!
