Here is a scan of some award entries, to me they look good but are little bit mixed, besides additional opinions always are more than welcome

Award Entries - Wehrpass

Ah yes, I've seen this one.
The EK1 entry is indeed very suspicious...especially as there is an authentic Gold Wound Badge entry on another page dated 26th August 1944. why would the clerk cram an EK1 entry in (against all regulations) and then place the Wound Badge entry on another page? I have an idea why....
I'm still waiting for a scan of page 12 but from what I can tell the man in question wasn't with a combat unit after October 1943.
It's a nice wehrpass and one I'd pay alot of money if the EK1 entry wasn't a dud. Still, I'll reserve total judgement until I see page 12.

Originally posted by Ian ThomsonSounds like a nice wehrpass, close combat clasp, tank battle badge etc etc with grenadier regiments of 20th Panzer Division, any more pages to share. Was he invalided out due to a wound received at Kursk?

The man in question served with the Feld-Ersatz battlion of 20. Pz Div until May 1944.
Wound badge entries can tend to lag behind active service...indeed so can assault badges and to a much lesser extent can EK entries.
As always there is never a single thing with these entries that pints to it being fake but it's usually a number of things that appear 'odd'. In this case:
i) an award made in August 1944 crammed into a space among 1941 era awards - against regulations
ii) an award made eight days earlier was placed on a new page
iii) over four months passed between his last service in a frontline division and the appearance of the EK1 entry
iv) the award on the EK1 seems to have been 'authorised' by a Oberleutnant and Kompanie commander...the same as the Pz Assault from 1941. Strangely the Gold Wound Badge was authorised by a Hauptmann and company commandder only eight days earlier
v) the 'EK' part of the entry looks er, shall we say familiar
I can't prove that it's fake of course but by my own experience and taking into account all of the above I believe it is. It appears I'm not the only one given the price the WP went for.
These days I must see three times more fake EK1 entries than real ones. Makes me wonder why I continue to collect to be honest.

Hi Gary,
I agree with your observations, in first place i thought to bid for this WP but later i back off.
One other reason for this i asked the seller to send me some pics of additional pages and never received them.
I think this honest WP has been ruined with the questionable entries...sigpic
