Bought a GBJ's Wehrpass recently, has this unusual equipment entry - trained on a "Lichtsprechgerät" a piece of machinery that they used for transmitting communications on a light beam. A short You Tube films shows it in use, a light beam sent 2,5 kilometres across a lake the receiver has a telephone, the operators speaker to each other by means of the light beam - believe the equipment was fazed out early in the war -- due to limitations.
