    Hi Szym,

Unfortunately, those markings are unfamiliar to me- and the layout doesn't follow the standard pattern. If you can get someone to take a digital picture or make a scan of the disc, that might help.

        Hi Szym,

Unfortunately, I'm still not sure what the markings mean- are you certain the first part of the second line is '19.00KW'? An Arabic number at the beginning usually indicates a Kompanie (or equivalent), but there were not usually 19 of them in a Regiment (or equivalnet). '00KW ZM' is equally strange. '702' is rather high for a unit number unless this is an independent specialist unit. If I discover anything, I'll let you know.

Sounds like it may be a Kraftwagen unit or something...can you get a better picture so we can see the inscription?

ZM could stand for Zugmaschine (locomotive), but I couldn't see how that could go with Kraftwagen, and besides train-related units are usually referred to as 'Eisenbahn' (railroad). And this all still doesn't explain the 'OO' before the 'KW'...

German Erkennungsmarken weren't made by machine- they were hand-stamped.

                            Heh, a small world.

Szym you've got me wrong I said that your tag can be a kind of tester. But I haven't said that it was used for testing dog tag stamping machine.
When stamping tags some improperly stamped tags were used as testers for the stamping tools. I think the tag shown here can one of these.
I have several similar testers in my colllection ( including one from SS-Wiking - they have damaged a really nice tag )
                            All best

Oh, and by the way - Matt - some of the IIWW german tags were machine stamped or "pantograph" engraved.
