The SS-Hauptsturmführer must be Karl-Hermann FRENZ who was at this time the commander of III/27. Unfortunatly I dont know his signature... The date of enlisment (june 20 1944) is ok for this bataillon. Strange low number (12103) for the Soldbuch but....

I read the signature of the SS-Hauptsturmführer more like "Bucher / Buche "

I never found an officer with a name like this one in the division.

          Interesting question.
The signature looks like the one of SS-Hst. H.(elmut) Brichze, former Kdr. of the III./Rgt. 27 Handschar.
However, according to Handschar-specialist George Lepre as well as John Moore's SS-Officerlist, Brichze was killed on 7 October 1944.
If the kia-date of B. is correct, he never could have signed this document on 20.12.1944.
          Three possibilities occur:
          1. the kia-date of 7.10.1944 is erroneous
          2. the document with the 20.12.1944 signature is a fake
          3. Brichze signed a number of these documents on forehand, leaving the date out to be filled out later.
          Like I said, interesting question.
          Opinions?
          Best,
          Dikeman

May be.... this signature look realy Brichze. In my opinion this officer was commander of SS-Aufkl. Abt. 13 from september to october 1944. George Lepre indication for the death is more credible that Volksbund here.

            Nachname:
            Brichze
            Vorname:
            Heinrich
            Geburtsdatum:
            1904
            Todes-/Vermisstendatum:
            18.08.1945
            Todes-/Vermisstenort:
In d. Kgf. in Spasskij Sawod
            Bei Karaganda

Sorry I wrote a mistake ! date of enlisment was not june 20 1944 but december 20 44. At this date, normally III/27 was dissolved !

I've just read the whole Lepre's book. Yes, he write that Heinrich Brichze was killed on 3 October 1944 ( not 7 ) in Appendix D ( page 353 ):
                "Brichze, Heinrich SS-Hstuf. Aufkl. Abt. 13 3 October 1944 I/28"
                i/28 not Aufkl. Abt. 13

In the Appendix A - Order of Battle:
                SS-Gebirgs-Aufklärungs Abteilung 13
                Feldpost Nr. 58907
                14 August 1943 - SS-Geb. Aufkl. Abt. 13
                24 September 1944 - SS-Geb. Aufkl. Abt. 509
                31 October 1944 - SS-Geb. Aufkl. Abt. 13
                Commanders
                22 May 1943- 1 August 1944: Emil Kuhler
                1 August 1944 - September 1944: SS-Hstuf. Walter Lüth
                September 1944 - 3 October 1944: SS-Hstuf. Heinrich Brichze (killed on3 October 1944)
                3 October 1944 - 8 May 1945: SS-Hstuf. Helmut Kinz (as of 1 April 1945 SS-Stubaf. )
                Imam - Salih Šabanović
                SS-Hstuf. (as of 9 November 1943 SSStubaf.)

Now, or the Volksbund data are incorrect or they refers to another Heinrich Brichze or the Lepre data are incorrect and he was survival to the 3 October 1944 battle and transferred to another unit that finished the war in Kazakistan ( Karaganda ).

Finally the soldbuch appears to be real not a fake. On page 7 we can find the script referring to the Ersatz Truppenteil: Stammkomp. SS. Geb. Jag. Ausb. u. E. Btl.13 Tr.Ub.Platz Neuhammer/Queis.
SS-Geb. Jg. A. u. E. Btl. 13 remained at Neuhammer. It was responsible for the transfer of the equipment of the division units that had not yet been formed. It eventually was transferred to Tuzla in early May 1944 and to Leoben, Germany on 8 September 1944 [Gen. Kdo. IX. Waffen-Gebirgs-Korps-
SS (kroatisches), "Kriegstagebuch Nr. 1" (hereafter cited as "IX SS Corps KTB Nr. 1"), entry from 8 September 1944].
Here we can find another response to our doubts: is it possible that Heinrich Brichze was in charge as trainer for the SS-Geb. Jg. A. u. E. Btl. 13 before taking command of the SS-Gebirgs-Aufklärungs Abteilung 13 and during this period he signed a lot of soldbuch for the future trainees?
                How about it?
