Cholm, CCC & DKIG - Wehrpass

Hello,

I am looking for more information on a recent grouping I have obtained.

I would like to know anything about a -

Bernhard Becker - Panzer Pioneer Bat 59.

I know he was on the 16th of March flew in by glider into the Battle of Cholm with 4 other volunteers from his unit with a 32cm Schwere Wurfgerat.

But what I really want to know is how he won his DKIG later with Kampfgruppe Friebe near Tarnapol.

I have some leads to follow, but would love to know if there is any other info via the internet on him!

Wow! That's an incredible Wehrpass! I wrote a book about Cholm (http://www.leapinghorseman.com.au/pr...75107690&cat=5) and mention the arrival of this small group on page 276. Really fascinating for me to know the name of this guy and see his Wehrpass. The group from 3./Pz.Pi.Btl.59 consisted of 1 NCO and 4 men, so Becker was the leader. A shot of the 32cm Schwere Wurfgerat in action is in my book.

Thanks everyone for your comments, it for sure is a very special Wehrpass.

I am overwhelmed by all the PMs alone from potential people wanting it.

If I think of letting it go, I will send you a PM. It really should go to a dedicated Cholm collector.

That photo is crazy, he made it inside the Kessel with one of these in a glider with 4 volunteers, that for me is a sign this guy was a true soldier.

Keep the posts coming if you have anymore information on his involvement in Cholm.

I would love to know where Mr Mark found the informarion out about these guys making it in.with a glider, if you can please share with us...
