        From the Volksbund:

        Nachname: Mangels
        Vorname: Friedrich
        Dienstgrad: Obergefreiter
        Geburtsdatum: 10.11.1909
        Geburtsort: Bahrenfleth
        Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 17.09.1944
        Todes-/Vermisstenort: Jekawa

Thanks for your replies Lionel and Hucks!

Ok,can any of our German members translate the 2 lines at the bottom of Hucks post!

Lionel, when you say peasent, does that mean farmer or such!

I also note "Lenningrad" there in his later stages or am i wrong!

The last two lines say that his grave could not be identified and so he could not be brought to the collective cemetary in Riga Beberbeki but his name is written in the remembrance book of the
            cemetary Beberbeki.

"Landw(.irtschaftlicher) Arbeiter" is his profession - agricultural worker, same profession as his father had.

It is a marching order (not exactly dated but 1940) to sent Friedrich Mangels as replacement to

                      the unit "58. Infanterie Division".

In general the Deutsche Dienststelle/WASt gave you the information that Friedrich Mangels was KIA 17.09.1944 near Jekawa as as a member of the unit 14 Inf. Regiment 209

His grave could not be found so his name is on a memory plate at the cemetery in Riga/Lettland.
