    The 12th SS Division was a SS-Panzer-Division – not a SS-Panzergrenadier-Division!

Did I miss something? There isn't a 12th SS Div. stamp on this Soldbuch. There is , however, a "Pz Gren Ausb u Ers Btl 12" stamp, a training unit.

For me IMHO in 1943 the tags for this unit are not with kp number but Stammkp. Kp number (5 Kp for this one come one year later...).

This is a fine and original soldbuch. There is nothing wrong with it. I have a similar one from the grandfather of a friend with all his award docs and pictures too.

            Kind regards, Peter

Concerning the rank: this man obviously former served with the Rumanian army (as can be seen looking at his decorations) and later - as a so-called Volksdeutscher - came to German Waffen-SS. When his military papers arrived, he got back a rank which corresponded more with his former Romanian rank.

              Kind regards, Peter
