and as interlude by german tanker in Italy (unfortunately I have very few of these) I wanted to open a relaxing topic about the most numerous Wehrpass and Soldbuch on services, logistics, transport, health, signals, etc etc german soldiers in Italy...

I start with one of the latest arrivals, a wehrpass

released in 1936 in Tübingen, in Baden-Wurttemberg, a very nice little with a famous and oldest university .... barred for the return to the family : fallen 16 February 1944

In war with the IR 35 (his pre-war regiment), Poland, Russia, and then in Italy in May 1943 in the ''Hafen-Kampf-Kompanie Olbia, a port logistics an security unit in the port of the North Sardinia following the 90 Pz.Gren. Div just arrived on the island

and here is the exact date of the retreat of the 90 Panzer and all Germans from Sardinia : 20 and 21 September 1943

It's always very difficult to find references or bibliography or memoirs of these small autonomous units as this Comany (probably 100-150 soldiers, probably German officiers and NCo with many Italian laborers) .... but thanks to this moved to Porto Santo Stefano on the Argentario (South Toskana) during the battle of Cassino and Anzio an important logistical center and sorting supplies, of materials, munitions, men, for the Gustav Line, as the ship movements were easier and safer than rail or road transport , for communications constantly interrupted by Allied bombing .......

Schneizer Wilhelm falls under a bombardment in Porto Santo Stefano and he was buried in Grosseto.......
