    Soldbuch Channel Island Jersey

This is an Interesting Soldbuch IMO of a Soldier who was first with the Jnf RGT 653 in France and Poland until he was transferred to Jersey with the Pi.Kp 319 of the 319 ID and then with the Fahr.Kol.319 until the end of the war Surrendering with the rest of the 319.ID when the Island was liberated. Lucky soldier so it seems! Also I wonder how he earned the KvK II Kl.
I haven't translated or researched anything else since Im too busy in work these past months. If anyone would like to add anything even translating entrys around, I d appreciate it

Nice Soldbuch, with an interesting last-minute promotion on 1st May 1945!
The signatures regarding this promotion, written on pages 3 and 19 are different but look like they have been made by the same pencil and possibly the same person!
But I think it's all still legit. At the end of the war, odd promotions like this were very frequent. Often, these were made just to grant a higher pay to the prisoner at the Pow camp!

                        Nice book Daniele!

It is not unusual for those stationed on the Channel Islands to get a KVK but for what purpose will be hard to find......he appears to have been awarded this whilst serving with the Fahrkolonne, so perhaps keeping his vehicle in good order?

I have a couple to the Pi.Kp. and Fahr Kol. so will take a look at those tomorrow.

                        /Ian

As for the medal, I ve never thought about that as a reason for the award!

Technically he should have had a driving badge for that but don't recall seeing one being awarded on the Channel Islands.....normally related to miles driven etc.....driving around in circles or from one side of the island to the other doesn't really warrant one

The KVK could be awarded for many things.....of course not directly related to front line service....however you can still get it for being at the front!

This is my Grenadier Regiment 582 (319ID) Soldbuch and Wehrpass set. This was awarded the Inf Stumabzeichnung, Ost Medal and the KVK2.
