Just a quick intro from me to you
As you will know Ian stepped down recently as a moderator, and I was recently asked to cover this position. I will not use the phrase replace Ian, as we would all agree that his knowledge is not surpassed by many people and I have no intention of trying to fill his shoes {or replace him}, which I think it would be hard for anyone to do.
What about me, well I have been a member of this forum for a while and previous known as Simon 1964. Well that's me Simon and I was born in 1964, having just reached the ripe old age of 40
I started collecting as most of us at a young age, encouraged by my Grandfather who was a WWI veteran, POW and post war regular. By the time I was about 13 I discovered the bass, girls and punk rock. So my time was spent doing other things

Spent some time as a psychiatric nurse, that's where I met my better half {no she wasn't a patient}, but its always a good yarn when people asked "where did you two meet", when you tell them in a mental hospital, you should see their facial expressions. But, for the last 15 yrs I have been working in the construction industry.
As for the hobby, I started collecting properly again about 7 years ago and became interested in WP & SB about 18 months - 2 years ago. But I have also developed a passion for photos and fallschirmjäger items. I am still learning many things about different items on this forum, but I think that is half the fun of this hobby, not just the collecting, but the learning and sharing, and that's what I hope we will continue to do together.
