Glasser fought in the First World War though not listed in this Wehrpass.

He started his second round of military service 1941 with Kraftfahr Ersatz Abteilung 4 in Dresden

Glasser was originally posted to occupation duty in France before being sent to the Ostfront during the defensive battles around Parpatsch as part of Unternehmen Trappenjagd, the German-Rumanian offensive to take the Kerstch peninsula.

In April 1942 he was named Kompanie Chef of Nachschub Kompanie 140 which was part of the 22. Panzer Division and involved in the heavy fighting around Charkow and the Donez basin.

That looks like it could be the signature of Achim Graf von Bothmer on pages 22 & 23 who won the DKiG in Fenruary 1942 while serving in Stab/IR-226.

Thanks Hucks, I was going to pose that question.

Glasser, as a older man still was awarded the Wiederholungsspange zum EK II, Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern along with the Krimschild...though based on the Awards shown in the Picture about, he was an old K.u.K. Soldat and won a number of Austrian Awards including the Karl Truppenkreuz, Militärisches Verdienstkreuz, Verwundetenmedaille / Abzeichen, Kriegserinnerungsmedaille and perhaps even the Sudetenmedaille.

After the destruction of the 79. Infanterie Division in Stalingrad, Glasser was posted to the Division in April of 1943 as it was rebuilt.
