Thanks Kevin Appreciate the help and the correction on Schwolow's first name!

    Best,

          Interesting battered Soldbuch Rob!

Confirmation of his unit when he was wounded is written on page 1. Quite often his FP Nr. was written here when taken to a hospital, sometimes even the initial injury. Not entirely sure why, maybe in lieu of a wound tag?

          FP Nr. 59611
          Regimentsstab u. Einheit Artillerie-Regiment 12 (12. SS-Division)
          6.9.1944 Regimentsstab u. Einheit Panzer- Artillerie-Regiment 12 (12. SS-Division).

            Thanks Ian

I have a few Soldbücher which have a short description of the injury on page 1 - one in particular helped confirm that it was in fact a combat-related wound when there was no medical code entered on pages 12/13.

            Best,
            Rob

Thanks! Needless to say I'm quite happy with it I haven't seen many D-Day casualty 12.SS-Pz.Div. Soldbücher and the fact he was KIA shortly after the Ardennes offensive makes it all the more interesting.

If any of our resident "HJ" experts can provide any info on the combat actions for the date Wenzel was KIA please feel free to contribute. I would really appreciate having some details surrounding his and his company commander's death on 24.January 1945.

              Best,
              Rob
