German ID tag group oinions please

    Hi.

A group of German ID tags are for sale and the SS "Norge" tag cought my attention, but the seller want to sell he's tags as a group. I got some pictures of some of the tags, but I don't know anything about german dogtags so I need your opinions on these. Some of these I think are pretty rare if they are real so I have my doubts.

    Best regards,
    André

I'm very pessimist about them as well, but I searched around on the internet looking at different dog tags both original and fakes, and I'm starting to think that these might be ok. If he wanted them all to look "old", I guess he would have done so with all of them. Some looks like they have hardly been used while the "norge" tag looks like a ground dug piece.

Any others that wants to share their opinions?

                  Thanks.

                  I appreciate your opinions.
On the "Norge" tag is should be "SS-pz. Gren. Rgt. Norge" and not what this tag shows.

                  I'll pass on this offer.

                  Best regards,
                  André

Just had another look and compared with an example in my own collection. I would pass on the one shown here.

                            hello everybody!
My name is Dan, and i'm from Romania. I am a ww2 militaria enthusiast and I have a metal detector wich I use searching for relics from that time. I do not have noticeable finds except a soviet badge "excellent artillerist" and a couple of "exerziepatronen" for k98 rifle. In rest I found spent cartridges, bullets, buttons and other small stuff.
In my last "expedition" i found a quarter of (wich I think it's) a german or romanian ww2 dog tag. I heard russian troops broke the id tags like that to make recognition of the bodyes harder. The markings that I can see are "No42284 A" and the number "5". I know it's hard to make a ID only on that, but you're my last chance.
                            Thank you!

                              Hi Dan,

Almost impossible, but I would say this tag belonged to a Romanian soldier rather than a German. Tags were also broken whilst in POW camps, once the information was taken they destroyed them, but so did prisoners themselves - so we can't say for sure how it came to be like this. Only that I would say it follows more the Romanian layout of a tag rather than German.

Maybe you should go back and look for the other part?

                              Best Wishes,
                              Simon
