    SS Soldbuch on Estand...

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=74372

Check out the first page.... halfway down it has a thin bit of paper torn out.

I used to have a Luftwaffe one with the exact same thing, only the edges were burned and it was entered in the book that it had been damaged (entry made right at the end of the war).

I always wonderd how the hell that damage had happened and what had been on that line.... now by coincidence... another book with the same.... anyone have an idea or has seen it before?

Is it just the one page? I don't know why he would want to rip out (or damange) a promotion on purpose though...

        Hello Chris,

Sebastian is correct, the missing piece would have shown his rank. Many Soldbuchs are found with every variety of damage to them. It is not unusual to find at least some type of damage. Some of it is deliberate such as the removal of any number of pages, or partial removal of a page, missing photo ect. Remember also that not all damage one finds is necessarily deliberate.

There is an arrow pointing to the missing section with wording next to it. Could you please tell me what it says?

        Regards

            Hello Erich,

That is correct. To clarify, writing alongside the edge of same page with ink stamp.

I know some of these books have had archive stamps on them and some have had this erased or ripped out....perhaps it could be one of those?

Some of these have been pilfered and some sold from archives...

Never seen the stamp but some related to the old name of the WASt........

Yours Chris, does not appear to be the same as the SS Soldbuch
