      Hello Onkel K,

By seeing this magnificent document, I wanted at first to play the devil's advocate, to find the defect, an incoherence, but ........ nothing. I am thus reduced to be .................. jealous

Jungco : thanks for the information about this decoration of the war end.

      Cordial greetings.

        It´s a stunning document indeed
Only one thing bothered me - the missing photo ...
But the outstanding award entry compensates this enough!

Nice to see.....I don't have one and never seen the entry before and I have some obscure ones!!!

There is a book which I forget the name but I have it upstairs that records Annerkennungsurkunde being awarded for shooting down aircraft, however these are dated prior to the introduction of the award posted by Jeff.

Out of interest I checked for his name or unit earlier but neither were listed, again little if any were post December 1944 anyway!

I will post the title tomorrow.

              Nice catch

              /Ian

This is an absolut outstanding Soldbuch! By shooting down an aircraft with an infantry weapon he would´ve surly qualified for an Iron Cross 2nd Class?!?!

Incidentally the book I was referring to was:

Die Inhaber der Anerkennungsurkunde des Oberbefehlshabers des Heeres für Flugzeugabschüsse 1941-1945 by Veit Scherzer.

                      Rare Story?

                      Gentlemen,

I really wish that there would be stories of Wehrmacht soldiers shooting down enemy aircraft with their infantry weapons. It is also interesting to find out the holders of the ADB (Aircraft Destruction Badge). Not a complete list of course.

                      Sincerely,

                      Edward L. Hsiao
