Ukrainian Soldier

I am currently working with a lady whose father came from the Ukraine.He ended up a coal miner in Wales and died at the age of 65 in 1990.She asked him about the war but he always used the refrain" what would a young lady want to know about all that for " all he did state was that he fought as a soldier.I have some documents she kindly loaned me to see if I can gain help from the wealth of knowledge that is our forum.All I do know for sure:
He was a soldier
He resided in the General Government
He was assisted buy the Red Cross in Rome
He ended up in Wales !!

I would have thought it highly unlikely he fought for the Red Army more chance of Ukranian Militia or the Wehrmacht.Any help would be wonderful.

If he was at Rimini will have been in the 14th SS-Volunteer Division Galician.

Worked for a Ukrainian builder years ago who was a prisoner at Rimini and he was in the Galician Division.come over to the UK in 1946 as a DP with other Ukrainians also ex Galician Div.
