I am currently working with a lady whose father came from the Ukraine. He ended up a coal miner in Wales and died at the age of 65 in 1990.She asked him about the war but he always used the refrain" what would a young lady want to know about all that for " all he did state was that he fought as a soldier.I have some documents she kindly loaned me to see if I can gain help from the wealth of knowledge that is our forum. All I do know for sure:
He was a soldier
He resided in the General Government
He was assisted buy the Red Cross in Rome
He ended up in Wales !!
I would have thought it highly unlikely he fought for the Red Army more chance of Ukranian Militia or the Wehrmacht.Any help would be wonderful.
