Or Local Defence Replacement Battalion.......basically a home guard unit! Often used as prisoner of war guards and in rear area duties. Some of these units were transferred to the rear war area in occupied countries and renamed Sicherungs Bataillon....usually involved in anti partisan warfare.

As Ian says, many were used in Russia as occupation troops. I have a few of these tags that were, at one time part of Army Group Centre.
