    Ausweis Luftwaffe

    Hi guys!

I know this is nothing really special, but - beneath Soldbooks and Wehrpasses - I like these ID-cards too.

    Kind regards,

    Peter

These were officially called "Frontflugausweis." As late as October 1943, the Luftwaffeverordnungsblatt, had to keep reminding the men that this Ausweis was not used when going on leaves (use the Soldbuch!!!) but when going on flights. That's when the Soldbuch was left at base.

I have quite a few of these to aircrew and Fallschirmjäger.....can't say I like the "EK II" and "EK I" stamps on the front?
If these are for awards, then the reserve was used for that, promotions, pay, awards even kit issues!

Only number i see is the ausweis number.

Just wondering if the EK stamps might refer to something else other than awards given their placing?

Certain Ausweis did make use of the Mob.Nr. followed by the Ausweis/dog tag number....but not all units did this.
I have at least 20 to hand and will take a look at numbering later.

                Yes....odd those EK stamps

                /Ian

Thanks so far for Your comments guys!
Whatever these "EK"-stamps may stand for, all I can say for sure is, that this Ausweis has not been messed with. I got it for free from a member of the family. As this was the only thing that survived the house-cleaning, I do not know if this man ever was awarded an EK II + I.

                    Kind regards, Peter
