ID Tag Panzer

I have seen on Internet this Erkennungsmarke of Panzer Grenadier.

It is real or is fake?
There is some book to detect ID tags fakes?

Hi Roberto,

So far there's only one book on German identity discs, and it only has a small section on how to recognize fakes. For the most part learning to tell authentic from fake is really only a matter of looking at lots and lots of originals. Then you get a feel for the bad ones. It's also important to be well-versed in the unit types in the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS- often times the thing that gives a fake away is that the unit is totally wrong.

As for this disc, I wouldn't buy it. I can't say for sure it's a fake, but enough things bother me that I'd pass on it.

This very disc was listed on ebaY not that long ago, and even then I saved the image in my 'Fakes' file for future reference...
