        Luftgau-Nachrichten-Regiment Norwegen
Formed 1940 in Norway with Flugmelde Reserve Kompanien 8 Drontheim, 11 Stavanger and later with schweren Flugmelde Kompanien 23 Vaernes, 24 Bergen, 26 Kirkenes, 27 Narvik, 28 Oslo and 30 in Finland. In 1942 the VI. Abteilung became II/Luftnachrichten Regiment 55, 1943 the V. Abt. became I./Luftnachrichten-Regiment 56.
        Under: Luftgau Norwegen

        Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 55
Formed Winter 1941/42 from II/Luftgau Nachrichten Regiment Norwegen (3.-5. Kp. from 21., 22., 25./Norwegen) with 3 3 Companies; 1942 expaned to Luftnachrichten Regiment 55 with I.-III. Abteilung and 17 Kompanien:
        I. from Luftnachrichten-Abteilung, II. from VI/Luftgau Nachrichten Regiment
        Norwegen, the new companies from 8., 11., 23., 24., 27.-29./Norwegen; 1944 reorganised as Luftnachrichten Regiment 251 (Regimentsstab, II., IV., V. Abteilung and 5., 10., 14., 15., 20., 24., 31., 32., 34., 40.-42. Company of this Regiment).

        Luftnachrichten-Regiment 251
Formed autumn 1944 in Norwegen from Stab, I-III/Luftnachrichten Regiment 55 (as Stab, II., IV. and V), the Companies from Luftnachrichten Regiment 55, only the 12. and 13. from 7. and 23./Luftnachrichten Regiment 222 of 2 Jagd Division (Stellungen Fuchs and Wolf), the V. latter the Regiment 252; 1945 Stab and II. Stavanger, I. Oslo, III. Bergen and IV. Drontheim.
        Structure: I. 1-5, II. 10-15, III. 20-25, IV. 30-34, V. 40-42
        Under: 5. Flieger-Division, Norway

21.11.1944 he is transferred to the Retraining Battery of Artillery Replacement and Training Regiment 30. Interestingly the same unit that I have to a Kriegsmarine guy who transferred to the Heer around the same time! In my case he was transferred to another unit on 10.3.1945...however there is not mention where to...maybe Artillery Regiment 114?

Artillerie Ersatz und Ausbildung Abteilung 30<O</O

Formed 26.8.1939 as Artillerie Ers.Abt. 30 in Rendsburg, WK X; 18.9.1944 transferred and merged into 190 Inf.Div.; 26.9.1944 reformed in Rendsburg. End of March 1945 on the <ST1Weser</ST1.
        Under: 1.11.1944 Div. 490

Not sure about the 1286...looks like Kennziffer 1286 which would mean reference number 1286!?!?!

Yes I saw your other post Yancy, nice to get so many to one unit....I wish for that many from 1 Kav.Div.

At this stage in the war it was not uncommon for Luftwaffe members (even Kriegsmarine!) to be transferred to the Heer, likewise also to the Waffen SS.

Looks like this guy got caught in one of the 'comb outs' late in the war. No more cushy life as a signaller waiting out the war in occupied Norway for him. Must have been a rude awakening.
