I would like to share some photos of another Soldbuch I bought; to a Romanian soldier who served with the German Wehrmacht. His name was Samso Vadi, he was an older man born in 1896, I can't make out his birth place (Balrancj?), but it was in Romania. Some interesting details are his Greek Orthodox religion, and the fact that he barely could write his own name. The Soldbuch was started in June 1944 and Vadi served as a Pferdepfleger in a backward unit, the Heimat-Pferde-Lazarett 512 in Mainz-Gonsenheim. As the Western allies neared the city of Mainz on the river Rhine in March 1945, Vadi eventually ended up in the front lines during the last months of the war. He was killed on the 22nd of April 1945 and is burried in Bensheim, but his place of death is unknown as graves from large areas of southern Germany were moved there. Given the date of his death, it was most likely in the area of Nürnberg, liberated on the 20th of April 1945.
