Interesting...... in 10 years of service, 5+ of those during the war he never received a PAB or Iron Cross! Judging from the units and awards listed I'd say he probably served his entire career in a support roll. Nice early service entries though.

Hi Lionel,

Does the album show the battalion's formation (in mid-1942 in Russia) or its reformation in France in early 1943? I've studied this battalion extensively and should be abl to help.

Hi Jason ! Thanks for your reply. The Guy was born 1923. He writes in its Album in Mai 1941 as he was formed in Pz.Rgt.1 Erfurt" "Hier beginnt die zeit meines Panzerlebens".
He joined the Pz.Abt.129 in Nimes in early 43.
He passed away 1998, I found his Nefew yesterday and phoned him, but the Guy was not informed about military Past from its Uncle. Luckily, these are some other Names with Adress in it, I called somebody else this morning and it seems he wants to help me... Wait and see...
Just learned that the Pz.Abt.129 had a Vet-Association, have you aver heard about that ??? (PM !!). It seems they drove in Italy to visit the places they fought in during the 80'ies. I assume this "Verein" do no more exist yet....
