Hello gentlemens

I got this small group of military Wehrpass Soldbuch and certificate of a man. He was finally at an Army Coast Artillery unit. In my opinion not as common, at least I have not found much of Ari Army. I am particularly pleased that he comes from my native Saxony.

Nice group and pretty standard for 'Norwegian' coastal artillery. For most them a KVKII was all they got.


24./HKAR 976 was based at Tysse near Ålesund in mid-Norway

32./HKAR 971 was originally based at Øksfjord on the coast from Alta in Finnmark. It protected the fleet anchorage there where Tirpitz spent a lot of her time.

As the Germans pulled out of Finnmark and North Troms in late 44 the battery was moved further south to Jusholmen, outside Flakstad on the Lofoten Islands, becoming part of the defences which covered the approaches in to Narvik.


Øksfjord was too far west to qualifiy for the Lapplandschild.

The 210 ID was the only coastal defence division assigned to 20 Gebirgs Armee and the only one to be based in Norway under that army's command, until they pulled out of Finland and merged with AOK Norwegen. After the withdrawal from the Syd-varanger area the division (a generous name for it) was placed in the Harstad and Lofoten area.
