The last highlight from 2012 is one from one of my favourit units, S/Pz Jager Abteilung 559. The soldier fought in this unit during Market Garden and was wounded during the battles in Belgium just prior to Operation Market Garden. It's defenitely one of my favourits. Although another one from the units Werkstatt Zug was offered to me i decided to go for this one because i already have a nice one from the units Werkstatt Zug. But i appreciated the offer

Don't drink to much tonight and watch your fingers with the firework and a happy and healthy 2013

    regards

Nice additions, Erwin! As far as I know Henner still has that s.Pz.Abt.559/654 Soldbuch in his collection.... Too bad you guys couldn't agree on a price!

                    Metz

Nothing major just an Oberleutnant's Soldbuch. He had earned the Iron Cross 1st Class and Gold Wound Badge early in the war and was with the Schule VI f. Fahnenjunker der Inf. in Metz during the campaign. there in 1944. Notice he has a POW number and no security check on page 15 for Sept.1944.

Actually i did but only with another group. I bought this s.Pz.Jag.Abt.559 group in parts because things from this group didn't surfaced at once. I bought the first documents at the end of 2011 just after i came back from our holliday in Sicily visiting friends with my family. In january 2012 i had bought all the things the seller had been able to gather.

It's a soldbuch/wehrpass grouping from a soldier who fought in 1/Pz. Jag. Abt. 8 Panzerjager Kompanie 601 and 3/Pz. Jag. Abt. 559. About 100 photos came with the group, including the very nice VK901 vehicle picture. I have attached a picture on this compilation were he is wearing his Sturmabzeichen on his fieldgrey wrap.

As you can see the stamp (Dienstelle F.P.Nr 10509) on his Sturmtage Liste (3/s.Pz.Jag.Abt.559 (Panther) is the same as the one on his Orden und Ehrenzeichen page from his wehrpass and on his very nice large portrait from his soldbuch. In the orange circle you can see the same dots in the stamp

We all have different standards and interests regarding what to buy and i'm very happy with both of them and what i have. Sure there may be more soldbucher etc around from this unit but actually i don't care anymore. Luckely collecting isn't the main thing in my life.

                      Happy new year

Well isn't that marvelous However when I said "both" I was actually referring to Henner's Soldbuch

Nor is it mine, it's just one of my many interests and hobbies that I have very little free time for... But yes, as I've said before clearly we all have very different standards

Woww, really. To be honoust, I can assure that i'm not impressed by this kind of statements, Mr Johnson. Like i said before, collecting isn't the main thing in my life and one more or less i don't care. I don't have the need to prove myself. For your interest I also don't have the intention to have the best soldbuch collection in the world which is superior to other collectors collections and i can enjoy nice items from other passionate collectors without the need to own it.

So basically it's just a waist of time if it is your intention to impress me. In case you have found one i'm happy for you and congrats. I know how hardly you were looking for one.
