12. SS-Panzerdivision Hitlerjugend Group with Soldbuch and EK2-Document

Hello guys,

got this nice little group some days ago.

Unfortunately the back of the cover is lost and first and last page are loose, also the drivers licence is in two parts.

The HJ-Leistungsabzeichen is exactly the one he wears on the photo.
It is a black one, but much of the black color is gone, only between the letters you can see it still.

On page 12 there is written "Tarnjacke - Stahlhelmüberzug".
Is this this an often found entry?

Is it possible to say for which campaign he may got the EK2?

The photo with the side cap and the single one with the field cap are postcard sized (have them twice), the other ones are smaller.

A very nice grouping and I am glad you shared it.

What a young man... Only 18 when he was in Normandy. I have read the majority of the enlisted men in the 12th SS were born in 1926. I have a few deathcards of 12th SS members who were born in 1926 as well. Was this book really opened in June 1940, when he was only 14?

I have a few books with the 'Tarnjacke' entry... So I don't think it is too rare, but definitely not common either. I have seen a fair amount of pictures of 12th SS soldiers wearing camo jackets, so I believe they were issued to a lot of members of this division.
