Interesting late war Soldbuch / 154. ID

This may not be too spectacular, but I think this small Soldbuch says a lot.

This is the Soldbuch to Schütze Wilhelm Blum born 3.8.1898 in Berlin.

The Soldbuch was issed on 2. April 1945 (Blum would have been 47 at the time) by the Wehrmeldeamt Hirschberg / Riesengebirge which is now Jelenia Góra, Poland.

Perhaps due to his age, Blum was posted to the Staff of the 154. Infanterie Division. I cannot find so much information about the 154. ID - a very late-war division, raised on 11. Februar 1945 (OKH/GenStdH/Org.Abt.Nr.I/20914/45 g. v. 11.2.45) by Oderberg (northest of Berlin) from the 154. Reserve-Division in the northern Ukraine.

On 4.4.1945 Blum received his first equipment issue as part of the Auffangkompanie 1054 (new recruits).

On 25.4.1945 Blum recieved a K 98, Bajonett and cleaning kit.

Blum was taken prisoner some time at war's end.

As briefly noted on the back cover of his Soldbuch, he was released (Entlassung) on 31.8.1945 and arrived in a destroyed Berlin on 15.9.1945.

Blum died in Berlin on 20.12.1970.

When I first purchased this book about 20+ years ago, it was the first time I saw this style of Soldbuch. I was not sure about it, but I knew the entries were genuine. In the meantime, I have seen a few other examples.
