Please help me with this page in a Wehrpass that''s in my collection .

On this page it is not very clear to me wich verwundung he died off [15.10.42 ]and further where is the heldenfriedhof I.R 328 [an der strasse ?]

In wich city or place is he is burried ,on the volksbund site is no further information about him where he is burried so give me a hand off what is written on this page .

On 15.10.42 he was wounded by a bullet in the chest and died from this on 18.10 in the hospital at Mge(sp?). The area is south of Lake Ladoga. He was buried in the graveyard of J.R. 328 which is on the road from Muskolow(sp?)-Seinjewino(sp?) at a point 9 km. and 350 m. west of the railway is what I make it out to be.

I have further information about this wehrpass now !

The battles for Rzhev (Russian Ржевская битва or as Ржевская мясорубка "Rzhev meat grinder of" known), which took place between January 1942 and March 1943, were among the bloodiest battles of World War II. After the troops of the Armed Forces, represented by the 9th Army of Army Group Centre, had withdrawn from the end of 1941 Moscow tried the Red Army in a series of operations, to break through the north and east of Rzhev standing German defense and the divisions of the 9th Army cut off in this projecting salient and destroy.

July 1942 fought the Reconnaissance Battalion 328 (328th ID, the subordinate 256th) under Major of calving at the right border of IR 58 to the village Gribojewo. On 15 August 1942, the department was reduced greatly due to failure and had to be taken back to the south bank of the Volga.

The references to Mga and Ssinjawino (Sinyavino) make it clear that this soldier was killed just south of Lake Ladoga, east of Leningrad. The place of his death has nothing to do with Rzhev.

in what way he was wounded: by a Bruststeckschuss Inf. Ges. = Infanterie Geschoss, which means : wounded in the chest by a round shot by an infranty weapon = a bullet from a handgun, more probably rifle or machine gun
