    9./SS-Inf.Rgt.1 LSSAH September 1942

I'm still researching a LSSAH Soldbuch (the one I showed as an example in "how to research a Soldbuch"), and got stuck on a Lazarett entry where I need some help from other experienced Soldbuch collectors.

In the summer of 1942 the LSSAH was in Normandy refitting and reorganizeing.
But SS-Schütze G.Hawlitzky got wounded on 15 September 1942 and was send to the Feldlazarett LSSAH till 30 September. The wound code in the Soldbuch is 31, so indicating he was wounded by enemy actions.
If he was wounded during trainning I would suspect a 34 code.

    So my questions are:

What do you thing about this entery, where were the 9th Komp. SS-Inf.Rgt.1 ant the SS-Feld.Laz. LSSAH at this time?

    Thanks

Thanks Ian for the fast reply.

I Had all ready done a check for the Feldpostnumber and indeed it is correct to the entry.
The fact that I don't understand is how can he been WIA (code 31) wen the LSSAH was in France? Were there maybe some parts of the LSSAH in action at the front at that time, or was he wounded due to a partisan, resistance actions?

Exactly that....the one off skirmishes and attacks generally are not mentioned in unit histories.
I had a similar case trying to find out what actions a Fallschirmjäger received his EK I and Ground Combat badge for when he was on a course.
Turned out he was at a Gasschützenschule in France in 1944 and the school was attacked by partisans and subsequently he received his awards for that action!
I only found this info after writing to the Kameradschaft and they put me in touch with the guy!!
Like your other thread on how to research a Soldbuch, you have to read every last detail, date etc....which many people unfortunately do not!
