    It could be "Einsatzkompanie OKW / Inland"

        Gerdan is correct so there is no need for anyone else's opinion.

            Hi Lee,

            To be honest not entirely sure..... Einsatzkompanie can be translated as an operational Company within OKW (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) and the Inland within Germany or "home affairs" rather than Ausland or Abwehr.

            I have one somewhere to the same unit I believe and he later had connections with Brandenburg.....will try and dig that out later.

              I have a similar Soldbuch (for sale too) to Obf. Erich Meyer who spend some time with Einsatz Kompanie OKW / Wehrmachtsverluste W V W ( a rare unit responsible for the identification and proper burial of military personnel ;

              “Sie (WVW) haben darüber zu wachen, dass der Beerdigung oder Verbrennung des Gefallenen eine sorgfältige und wenn möglich, ärztliche Leichenschau vorangeht, um den Tod festzustellen, die Identität zu klären und darüber Auskunft geben zu können. Sie haben ferner darüber zu wachen, dass die Beerdigung in ehrenvoller Weise erfolgt, die Gräber geachtet und jederzeit wieder gefunden werden können.“

                Here are two that I thought were in the same unit but not.....

                The first is a Hauptmann who after being wounded in 1942, served from 1943 with Oberkommando der Wehrmacht Abteilung Inland.

                The second is a Obergefreiter with Stabsquartier Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, 1 Kommandierten Kompanie. Other units mentioned by Feldpost number are:

                FP No. 56373 - Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, Amt Ausland Abwehr Abteilung (Zentral)
                FP No. 12000 - Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, Landes Verteidigung
                FP No. 48596 - Abwehr Schule Lehr Regiment Kurfürst

                  I am guessing then he would have been in Berlin then?

                    Lee,

                    I would presume so but seeing it was an Einsatzkp. he could be deployed elsewhere!?

                    Here is a breakdown of OKW. You can see from the first chart the main areas....your guy came under Allgemeines Wehrmachtamt (AWA), as did Erich's....under that is the respective Companies under AWA.

                      I was looking through my copy of Handbook On German Military Forces 3-15-45, Manual TM-E 30-45I and found -

                      "Amtsgruppe Inland, transferred to National-Socialist Guidance Staff of the OKW during February 1944. It maintains liaison between OKW and civilian agencies in Germany. It contains a domestic security branch and an ideological guidance branch."

                      So maybe Einsatzkomp. is the domestic security branch? If this is the match with the soldbuch entry.
