    Help with Infantry dog tag.

    Hi All,
Here’s another dog tag I picked up last year and would to know if it’s good or bad. They are easily made and I’ve seen fake ones (mostly SS) that look really good posted here and reproductions on ebay. The cord is not original to the dog tag but is an original zeltbahn rope I put on. Any information where this soldier might have been fighting during the war? It's an aluminum disk and some what bent up in shape.

    1./ Jnf. Ers. Btl. 390

Thank you any and all help will be appreciated!!

    Rodney

      Hi Battlerelic,
Great information (used "Google Translate") on the website for the Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 390. An early replacement battalion, this would be correct for an aluminum dog tag disk.
      Thank you for your help!!

It looks like a ground dug tag that got a little hit with the shovel while being dug up. The string isnt original.

Hi Jean-Loup, Thanks for the added info. That makes sense, the ding on the disk where a shovel might have hit............ hope it was just a lost dog tag and not with the ...........!
