Nothing wrong with that .....Bart would have snapped it up as he says

Interesting why there is a portion of page 1 missing as it does not appear to be ranks! Otherwise there would be a counter entry on page 3......

Prior to being HJ he was LSSAH....the wound he received was probably why he ended up in admin troops!

Very nice to a desirable unit!

Indeed, he would've had no chance.

As you say interesting that the ranks are missing (square cut out). To this reason we can only guess, maybe he was about to become a POW and stripped his ranks from his uniform and/or out his soldbuch. Anyway, I think I still see "er" written, could be his final rank was Rottenführer? He was a driver in the unit. See further in my posts for more information. Sad to see they had almost no rest.

The signatures in the Soldbook are from SS-Obersturmführer Paul Pischel (born: 09.02.1916, died 28.07.1992).

From my archive to help you:
(1.) SS-Sturmmann Schiller made a ride with schwere Lastkraftwagen (Lancia) with licenseplate: SS-937663 on the 2th of July 1944 with 9 tons of Verpflegung from Putanges to Blois and back. Two s.L KW did this ride: one Lancia from SS-Sturmmann Schiller and another one from SS-Sturmmann Hackelberg. (It was a ride which would take 2 days).

(2.) On 16th of July around 22.00, SS-Sturmmann Schiller, was still on the road from route M.J.H.L.-Verneuil with his s. LKW (Lancia) with licenseplate: SS-937663 together with SS-Sturmmann Hackelberg (riding his s.LKW 'Lancia' with licenseplate: SS-937661), SS-Mann Kroth and SS-Mann Richter (both riding a m. LKW 'Bianchi') with 3 tons of Bekleiding. They departed on 15th of July and were expected to arrive on the 16th but they arrived a day later and were expected 17.7. around 05.00.

(3.) From 17.7., 23.00 till 25.7.1944, 01.00, SS-Sturmmann Schiller made a long ride from M.J.L.H. (Menil Jean) to Mörchingen with his s. LKW (Lancia) with licenseplate: SS-937663. To pick up Marketenderware. Estimated 1200 km.

(4.) On 31.7.1944, SS-Sturmmann Schiller, made another ride with his s. LKW (Lancia) with licenseplate: SS-937663 from Menil-Jean to Vielers with 6 tons of Verpflegung. He departed on 22.00. I can't say how long the trip took but it was an estimated 500 km.

                    Extensive research in Archives.

Well, I can't find it on Weitze anymore, so most probably it is sold. As said before, Freiwilliger, glad to help and it will be the last time.

Yes, so that would mean the award was rendered on that date but of course not the date that Kraemer signed it. This is common for most awards, however confusing when you try and research it........
