A very good friend of mine, Robert Brooks Jackson, who is now ninety-one years old, fought with the 179th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Division in World War II. During "Operation Nordwind" (Operation North Wind"), he was captured by soldiers of the 6. SS Gebirgsjäger Division "Nord" (6th SS Mountain Division "North") and held prisoner in the St. Felix Catholic Church in Wingen-sur-Moder, France, from 4 - 7 January 1945.

I am wondering if anyone has any IDs (Soldbuch or Wehrpass) for soldiers who fought at Wingen-sur-Moder during "Operation Nordwind," especially IDs for SS soldiers who served with the 6. SS Gebirgsjäger Division "Nord." If so, I would like to see some photos.
