      Let’s have a look at Rob’s document.

Strength and Positions in a medium tank Coy Panther .

      Leader Group consisting of 2 Panther tanks, 3 - 350cc motorcycles and a staff-car.

First we have the Company Commander (Kompanie-Führer) who is also the Panzer-Führer of tank 1

Next, we have a Feldwebel as a Panzer-Führer commanding the second tank.

Then we see the Richtschützen (Gunners) of which we have 2 (one for each tank)

Now the Funker (Radio Operators for armoured vehicles) 2 (again one for each tank).

... we have the Kraftwagenfahrer für gepanzerte Kw (Drivers for armoured vehicles) 2 (one for each tank).

finally the Ladeschützen (Gun Loaders) 2

Count them all together and we have 10 men - the two crews for the 2 Panthers.

The rest of the Leader Group personnel consist of 3 motorcycle dispatch riders and a driver for the staff car.

All men are accounted for - and what do we see - every tank had a Panzerführer and a Panzerfahrer (i.e. Kraftwagenfahrer für gepanzerte Kraftwagen) in its crew.

Just so everyone is clear, this is a NARA scan of the actual German KStN. It's an official, war-time created document.

                  Hi all-

Here's a period "Panzerfahrer" entry in a Wehrpass to a veteran Panzer crew member recently posted by member "Rise" in this thread which puts to rest the debate as to whether or not "Panzerfahrer" was used when referring to soldiers who were trained on driving tanks.

Here's another example of a "Panzerfährer" entry in a Wehrpass, this one from the collection of Eric-Jan B. Thanks for sending over the scan and allowing it to be shown in this thread, EJ!
