Stamps over letters in each entry that is being validated by the stamp.

Looks like your soldier was severely wounded in the Winter 1.941-1.942, can you show us the wound pages.

    Angel
Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

      Hi Doug,

Angel is right. The stamps are there as a sign that the entry has been validated so as to speak and is legitimate, not having been simply added by the soldier. In a way it authorises the award.

So to answer your question the stamp may be over the award or not, but yours looks fine!

Dont know what else you want to know but he was promoted from Gefreiter through to Obergefreiter and finally Unteroffizier in 1942 and by the looks of it discharged in 1944 in Linz in June and classified as Fit for labour service - signified by the a.v.

Scan 5 shows security checks and 3 personal details.

                        Wound entries:
                        31A - Bullet wounds
                        31B - Hand grenade/Mortar/Artillery

The leave entry goes something like:
Special vacation because of impending discharge due to service inability.
