Wehrpass Help

Hi Guys,

I recently received a Wehrpass to a Flak man and I have some questions...If you look at the promotion entries they show promotion up to Oberwachtmeister in 1943, but my question is why is there a promotion entry on page 37 and what does it signify/say (shown below)? Also, for the entry 30.7.1942 all I see is what looks like an 'O' - any ideas?

Lastly, can anyone confirm that this is in fact a railway ticket, as it came with the Wehrpass?

i guess he was promoted to an NCO for the invasion of the Sudetenland see date 10.10.38, so he was promoted for maybe smothing done during his time there, maybe thats why it s on the award page. Sometimes you get an promotion like an award.

can you see , if he has the sudeten medal ??

It looks to me that the promotion has been written over something else. Can this be true? The dates would seem to correspond.

I cannot see an entry for the date 30.7.42 on Page 22.

And yes, that is a train ticket.

Not uncommon to find such things, probably the clerck used the first page blank and forget to see if space enough in the proper one.

Regarding the award on July 30th, 1.942 I guess Ostmedaille, due appointment and date.

Nice pieces, any other award? mention of shoot down aircrafts?

Thanks for the quick responses....Yes the promotion entry on pg 37 is written over something else but I am unable to make out what it is, although it looks like it is something that the clerk erases beforehand. It may however be something to do with the Sudentenland, as on pgs 28 and 29 there are some
entries, possibly relating to this?




Angel you are right. The clerk began writing the awar for the Ost Medaille on pg 22 and then swicthed to the appropriate place!

Only awards are: EK2, Ost Medaille and Flak Badge and unfortunely it does not mention any planes shot down, although I have another Wehrpass that does!Although there is an interesting entry on page 19:

Entry in page 19 is a standard one, it was made for those soldiers who operate radars or seaplanes in KM ships, I remember one group coming with his Soldbuch, citations and photos, was really shocking when you see a LW NCO wearing the High Seas Fleet award and when you see his unit as a Destroyer.

I like to see the other Wehrpass with the notations of shoot down planes.

You also collect Heer pieces or just LW?

Thanks for the comment - I will post some pictures of the other Wehrpass later. To be honest though I am focusing on Heer KIA pieces although I do collect a few LW pieces that attract my eye!
