    Help with signature 4/JG 53 ?

    Gents,

Here is a leave page from the Soldbuch of a member of 4 Staffel, Jagdgeschwader 53.

Leave 5 has the signature of Leutnant u. stellv. Staffelführer Fritz Dinger. RK 23.12.1942, + 27.7.1943 Scalea, Sicily.

Leave 6 has the signature of the unknown (to me at least!) Oberleutnant u. Staffelkapitän?

Leave 7 and 8 has the signature of Oberleutnant u. Staffelführer/Kapitän Gerhard Michalski. RK 4.9.1942, EL 25.11.1944.

    Thanks in advance, Ian

    Ian,

Is it Oblt.Kurt Liedke. He is listed in one of the Prien books (I'm not sure whether it was the German or the English edition) as St.Kpt.4./JG53 (10.40-30.9.41)?

    All the best

      .

Ian- I don't know if time permits but I would love to see more scans of the soldbuch as I believe the staffel was at Comiso during part of that time. No perference on what pages, but love to seee anything associated with the base. Thank you. Dirk

        Thanks Mike,

Looks like that could be it....Prien's JG 53 is the only set I have not got!?!?!?
Liedke appears not to be an Ehrenpokal, DK or RKT....he is listed as having 15 victories with JG 53, NJG 1 and 2!?!?!?

        Cheers, Ian

          Hi Dirk,

I will check but I do not think there is anything related to that base......

          More later

I am almost 100% sure the signature says Liedke.
