Espionage entry in WP?

Am I correct in that the following entry is in relation to an espionage training course?
"Trained in techniques of espionage and protection of state secrects 6.3.1942"

You are correct -HOWEVER, this was the standard demobilzation / Entlassung entry for the military. The first such entry I saw years again, I was impressed, then as the collection grew I realized it is a very standard entry.

It doesn't mean 'trained' as in the English definition. It means the man was made aware of the need for security and secrecy where sensitive information is concerned. Sort of like being made aware of the Official Secrets Act when you strat a job for the MoD in the UK - don't take documents home, shred\burn sensitive documents, don't talk about work issues in the pub etc etc

It doesn't mean he was trained as a spy or anything like that...despite the claims of many dealers afew years back!
