LSSAH "Tiger" Panzer Grouping - Peiper Signature

Hello. I'd like to show my latest catch - a LSSAH "Tiger" Panzer grouping of SS Schütze Erich Bühler who fought for the "1./(schw.) SS-Panzer-Regiment 1 LSSAH". The lot had never been in collectors hand before.

    The grouping consists of:

    • PAB Silver award document "1./(schw.) SS-Panzer-Regiment 1 LSSAH", original signature Joachim Peiper
    • a two-sided replacement document for the lost Wehrpass
    • Annahmeschein Waffen SS
    • SS Discharge Order
    • handwritten curricula vitae

Comments appreciated. Now enjoy the pictures.

    Regards

I can't say I've seen anything like the giant "SS" runes on a discharge certificate before...

          Hello Oberbootsman,

It looks like a great deal. It looks like a nice PAB document with Peiper signature. Do you perhaps know why is written ( schw) panzer regiment? I thought the LAH had a seperate heavy tank battaillon attached under command of von westernhagen during the normandy campaign and that the LAH has a common panzer regiment? Just ready to learn

I wonder when the first rights of refusal will come

          Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the nice comments so far. I was hoping that the other experts as well would say something about the documents originality. I'm almost a 100% sure that they are but I'd like to hear some opinions of the documents specialists.

                  Regards, Matthias

As Hank said, you might have a better chance in the Paperwork section, but I see nothing wrong with the PAB citation with the very desireable signature of Jochen Peiper.
The Feldpost Number in the stamps of the 2nd piece of paper on Post 2 matches LSSAH's Panzer Rgt with the FpNr of 48427 being for 3 Kompanie. I don't have my files or any books with me so can't identify the Regimental Commander who has signed that piece of paper I'm afraid.

                      Great find

I find no faults with this grouping......the Peiper signed document is, IMO, legitimate.

Personally, I really like the double sided "Wehrpass" document....

                        Hank:

The large red colored SS runes (also to be found in black) on the discharge document is a legitimate period application, the runes a stamping on a standard Discharge document. These SS runes are not always to be found on discharge docs for ex-SS members (don't have any info. as to the "hows and whys" of this), but when they are encountered are usually found on US Discharge documents (like this one)...

Even though I have seen the docs only on my blackberry until now
                            I like them.

The 'Peiper' is definitely a good variant. Identical to one of mine
picked from an estate in Hamburg.
