    Help with these stamps!

    Hi folks,

I have a Kriegsmarine WP where there are no entries after November 11, 1944. I´m trying to understand what happened but I´m still a newbie with this stuff.

I know that some stamps are faded, but any tip about these notes is welcomed. If you need any aditional information, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Douglas.

        Hello,

the man was discharged, most probably because of health reasons which could also include injuries and wounds. The first stamp starts with "entlassungsfähig", which means he is fit or eligible for discharge. the middle of the stamp, which I cannot read, should contain if he has to be examined by a doctor in future or not. The stamp is signed by a Marineoberstabsarzt.

The second stamp mentions he received 50 Reichsmark at his discharge (Entlassungsgeld) which was the normal sum for privates I believe. The stamp was signed by a replacement unit (Marineersatzabteilung).

The third stamp was made by his Wehrmeldeamt for his home-area, which was Hannover. After his discharge from the navy the man had to report to the local Wehrmeldebehörde or draft-office.

        Hope this helps

        Johannes
