                    Nice early Wehrpass.

                    He was trained as a radio mechanic and had light vehicle/truck license, also ended up in transport units. So yes a radio mechanic and driver.

                    However, he was also trainied in Kw K 30. The colour of the ink and hand writing matches the Stammrollennummer on page 12, so could have been entered whilst he was with Pz.Rgt. 2 ......of course not much chance now of finding out for sure if he was a tank crewman during that time!

                    But could have been a gunner for a short time!

                      How he was awared by just KVK and no driver badge I think more chance to be radio and look at his civilian job !

                          So when he was part of a combat unit (1./Pz.Rgt.2), he was not credited with actions near Stalingrad. This only happened on 1.9.42, the same day he was transferred from 1./Pz.Rgt.2 to Transport-Kp. Vers.Rgt.16.Pz.Div.
