Need help with a dogtag recently groundfound in the USA

A friend just contacted me about a dogtag a friend who is in the army found on the ground at Ft Hood while training. Any help would be appreciated. I have asked for an imae so if anyone is will to post it for me I would appreciate it. Here is the info and thanks for helping in advance. Chris
    .................................................. .................

My buddy, Matt is at Ft Hood getting ready to ship out to Iraq soon, but during a preflight of his Blackhawk he noticed what he thought looked like a German WWII dogtag...so he wandered over and sure enough it was! So he called to give me the info off the tag so I can give him more info. Anyway if you have any info on internment/work camps in Texas or can help with the info on the tag that would be most excellent!

I read on the web that a school was doing a dig at the former POW camps at Ft. Hood. I had some POW files to a HG man held there and passed copies to the professor in charge of the dig. Lots of guys from the North African campaign were interned there.

I think the code is not quite clear, right? Maybe it reads Pz.Ers.Abt.5...? It would stand for Panzer Ersatz Abteilung 5:

      http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...zerAbtErs5.htm

Blood type A and after that the personal number (NR, not MR ?) of the soldier.

The unit supplied replacements for Ak as well, so it would be in line with the fact this camp held quite a few AK POWs.

Thanks everyone. I am still hoping for an image but I wondered the same thing that the tag might not be clear any longer. IfI get an image I will let you know. Thanks again for your help. Chris

          update

Here is a post I made about this thing in another forum. I have been emailing with an Archaeologist who surveyed the field a couple years ago. She has a partial list of the prisoners and might be able to find a name.

I was preflighting on Monday (5 Jul) for a night flight out at North Fort Hood and found a German WWII dogtag from the 5th Panzer training and replacement regiment, 5th company. The parking pads at Longhorn Aux. Airfield are in a former farm field and only half have any access paths to them so far, the rest is currently solid mud. The tag must have been worn by an Afrika Korps member working the field as a POW. It rained all last week and this obviously uncovered enough of it so that when I walked past it was visible.

ETA: The field may have been the site of the prisoner barracks themselves, not just a farming work site. It was excavated by archaeology students from PA a few years ago and the construction of the current airfield went forward earlier this year with all sorts of permissions on condition that artifacts found during construction be turned over to the state.
