Hi Lee, thanks for the comment. A very relevant article too when one considers how advanced in age most remaining WWII veterans are.

From the article it appears he got around during the war. Served with the XI Army in the Crimea during the seige of Sevastopol and underwent
Officer training. Fought in Normandy and was captured in the Ruhr Pocket.
